home design is the creative art and science of enhancing the homes, including the exterior sometimes, of a building or space, to achieve a wholesome and even more attractive environment for the end consumer visually. An true home designer is a person who plans, researches, coordinates, and manages such projects. home design is a multifaceted occupation which includes conceptual development, space planning, site inspections, programming, research, connecting with the stakeholders of the project, structure management, and execution of the look.

home design is the process of shaping the knowledge of home space, through the manipulation of spatial size as well as surface treatment for the betterment of human functionality.

In the past, homes were put instinctively as a part of the process of building collectively. In traditional Egypt, "soul houses" or models of houses were positioned in tombs as receptacles for food offerings. In 1882, the London Directory of the Post Office shown 80 home decorators. A few of the most recognized companies of the time were Crace, Waring & Gillow and Holland & Sons; famous decorators employed by these firms included Thomas Edward Collcutt, Edward William Godwin, Charles Barry, Gottfried Semper, and George Edmund Neighborhood.
